other info
  • An exceptional American Optical frame from the early

1930's, especially being in white gold. The familiar mark

is the 1/10 12kgf stamp used by AO: a small circle

within the 3-sided square. 'Ful-Vue' refers to an AO

innovation, the placing of the joints and arms up high at

the sides, for a fuller, unobstructed view. The eye-shape

is a glorious octagon and those angles are echoed in the

crested bridge. The decoration of stylised diamonds,

stars and lines gives this pair the ultimate Art Deco touch.

Luxury like this would have been in the reach of very few

Americans in the 1930's and this rare piece is in wonderful

and wearable condition. We have had it fitted with plano

MAR coated lenses, so it could be worn now, just as an

incredible accessory. Or it could be glazed with prescription

or tinted lenses. As it is a small frame, it would suit men

or women - but please do check sizes before you buy.
