Alain Mikli is quoted as saying he invented
the term eyewear designer - our very own
Oliver Goldsmith may have something to say
about that - but it is true that since Miklis
arrival in 1978, eyewear design has been
taken to a new level. We could have had
sunglasses lenses fitted to this pair but as
his vintage frames are so sought after, we
thought we'd leave it to the customer to
design their own bespoke lenses. The frame
has been marked down due to some green
spotting on the metal of the right arm core
and a tiny split in the laminate on the left arm
- neither are a problem, but it means these
not being perfect are a bargain. FYI,
Mikli is
still going, with boutiques in most major cities
of the world.
