• This is a gold frame that has been coated
  
  black. The reason they've used a high quality
  
  gold frame is one, they last longer and two,
  
  some people are allergic to base metals. The
  
  gold mark refers to the frame being 1/20 14
  
  karat - which puts the frame in the sixties, but
  
  the style seems a little later to us and we know
  
  that German manufacturers were using 1/20
  
  well into the 70's when most others had opted
  
  for 1/40 or less. It is a smallish frame so
  
  check sizes before you buy.
