  • HCO was the Hadley Company, one of the

    main suppliers for the Air Ministry through-

    out WWII for servicemen and women. This

    pair features in the WWII section of Mick J

    Prodger's excellent, Vintage Flying Helmets,

    (still available) - check it out. And here it is,

    in the full kit. This is the Type C, single bridge

    sunglasses that were issued from 1943.

    Not sure if these saw any action as they

    were issued for many years after the war.

    Lenses are not that dark, 34% LTF and are

    good, 97% uv protective at 380nm, fine for

    any conditions, even at thirty thousand feet,

    spotting Jerry.
