• Although the frame is injection molded nylon - supposedly
  
  robust and lightweight - these Vuarnets are mainly known
  
  for their lenses, this pair fitted with the SKILYNX 4000.
  
  Of course they filter out all UV rays, but their "...multi-
  
  layered anti-reflective coatings also eliminate glare and
  
  bounce-back light." They are made from ...the finest glass,
  
  ground and polished on both sides to ensure distortion
  
  free vision and heat tempered for impact and scratch
  
  resistance... - says some Vuarnet info we found. These
  
  particular lenses, with the amber yellow base, also
  
  enhance contrast and depth of fields and they are
  
  double gradient mirrors: extra dark (6% LTF!) top and
  
  bottom to protect against light from above and bounce
  
  from below ie, excellent for skiing. This model - 085
  
  V- bridge - with the 9-base curve lenses is highly
  
  desirable especially in the brown which was discontinued
  
  many years before the black. BONUS: Want to see this
  
  pair - albeit with a different lens - in an ad from 1987?
