Ralph Lauren was born Ralph Lifshitz - (well, you'd change it,
wouldn't you?) - in 1939 in humble beginnings in the Bronx,
New York and is still going strong after more than 50 years in
the fashion business. After leaving the army he started in
the fashion world selling ties and then in 1967 designing
his own menswear with a sports look which he called Polo.
Within two years Bloomingdale's were selling his men's line
exclusively. An incredible career and success story, the
American Dream. This pair a small chapter in that story,
Ralph branching into optical frames for men in the 1980's,
under the Polo umbrella. Rare to find these, it is in great
condition too.
