info
Beautifully shaped frame from what looks to be
from the immediate post-war period, probably
made in the UK or continental Europe. Being
hand-made and possibly bespoke, there are no
markings on the frame so difficult to determine
its origin. We say bespoke because the sizes are
not exact, it actually measure up as 42.5mm eye
size and 20.5mm bridge, so perhaps custom
made for a client. The acetate looks black but is
a deep, dark translucent red, which reveals itself
when catching the light. The best part - besides
the arched brows - has to be the tapered sides,
starting so narrow at the 3-charnier joint and
going oh so wide to those paddle ends. It is a
small frame with short sides which we wouldn't
be keen on adjusting as this material doesn't
like to be messed with, so petite faces need
only apply.
