He started in Paris and went on to open offices in New York and London. This pair looks very similar to one in this 1966 catalogue, but ours slightly different - perhaps from the following year. It is a quadruple layer acetate which has been engraved in a feathered style using the different coloured layers to great effect - like a peacock's plumage. The main colour looks black but is actually an intense dark brown, with lighter browns and a blue underneath. Although only medium sized, it comes up wider - 138mm across the top - due to the feathered sides. In as new condition, hardly worn. — klasik |
