info
Cazal Creations never specified if a design was for a man
or woman; perhaps because many of the styles were worn
by both.
Especially the young in the early to mid-1980's in
the US where Cazals or "Cazzies" were a craze, even among
teenagers. Jamel Shabazz's photo from his book
"Back in The
Days", shows how 'unisex' these Cazal status symbols were -
the frame on the left though, like this one, seems more a
woman's frame. Perhaps it's the arched and upswept tops of
the frames. This one is from the 300 Series which came out
in the late 1980s. It is previously worn so has lost the
identifying writing on the inside of the arms. We know though
that this is the model and colourway as listed above - and
indeed it was marked W Germany, having been made in or
around 1987. Apart from that, the condition has been marked
down to 'good' due to bits of the black finish haing worn off
the gold metal hinges - see photos. However despite that, a
very wearable late 80s Cazal designed by Cari Zalloni.
