info
Oliver Goldsmith Eyewear started over 75 years ago and
are still going today. Perhaps their peak period was around
the time this pair was made, when movie stars and Royals were
wearing OG designs. This pair looks to be late 1960's and
although very much a British designer, he had his glasses made
on the continent as well as here, this pair made in France. (You
can read more about the history of OG sunglasses on their new
Oliver Goldsmith Sunglasses site, which do remakes of the old
designs, but not this one.) Dante is in a beautiful dark tortoise
colour, slightly wrapped with wide sides accommodating a
sturdy hinge with star head pins. Extremely lucky to have found
it having never been worn. Oliver Goldsmith frames and sunglasses
are now exhibited in the Victoria & Albert Museum, London.
BONUS: we've had Dante before and the kustomer kindly sent
us his photo at
the Trooping of the Kolor.
