info
Oliver Goldsmith Eyewear began almost 100 years ago and are still
going today. Although their peak period was through the 1960s,
when movie stars and Royals were wearing OG designs, they were
still producing cutting edge designs throughout the 1970s when
this pair, Exeter was made. We have found this pair having never
been worn with the original sticker on the inside which denotes
the colourway: Marsh. We've had this model in the past in Peat and
Brown Ash, so OG was obvs going through a rural period. The other
temple proudly states Made in England, although OG did over the
years have their frames made on the continent as well. (You can
read more about the history of OG sunglasses on their
Oliver
Goldsmith Sunglasses site, which do remakes of the old designs,
but not this one.) The lenses in this pair a mid-brown gradient, the
top of the lens matching the brown tones in the frame. It is a large
frame, we reckon unisex. Oliver Goldsmith frames and sunglasses
are now exhibited in the Victoria & Albert Museum, London.
