info
Unusual not to have a maker's mark in this pair -
anyone would be proud to have made this fine piece
of eyewear. Wood-effect frames became popular in
the late 1960s and were made into the 1970s. This
pair is pinned through the front as well as the sides
so could be late 60s but we put it in the 70s due to
the large format lenses and the square aviator shape
- but we've been wrong before. The shields on the
temples - black/red/white striped triangles are matched
by the same logo on the bridge - so perhaps this is
their maker's mark which has been lost in time. The
quality is not lost on us though and it remains in
good condition, just some signs of wear on the inside
of one arm and very slight signs on the outside of
both, otherwise this sportsman kept them pretty neat.
