info
The
422/B hails from 1996, a year before Gianni
Versace was tragically killed. We'd like to think
therefore that he has a hand in this wonderful
design, complete with his trademark and iconic
Medusa head logos on each side. Certainly around
the mid-90s many of Versace's sunglasses designs
were interpretations of this shape and style -
indeed we've seen less scrupulous online auction
sites make claims that this model was worn by the
Notorious B.I.G. - but we've not seen a photograph
of Biggy Smalls in the 422/B. But let that fact
not detract from this cool piece of eyewear history:
perhaps the 422/B was not available that week in
Sunglasses Hut, Bergen NJ. This pair in very good
condition, lenses excellent. Nice weight to it and
the 5-charnier hinges give a smooth action.
