info
Very unusal early upswept frame without a maker's mark.
One would normally associate this shape with the 1960s,
however the deep bridge and the type of hinge make us
believe it is a lot earlier - perhaps even late 1940s. The
method of sandwiching a piece of fabric between two thin
sheets of clear acetate was a way of introducing incredible
patterns into eyewear and here they have chosen what
appears to be a printed linen with a pattern and colour
that perhaps today might be described as an ethnic print.
It is a mix of pastels with stronger black lines and shapes
and even a splash of teal. The hinges are pinned front and
sides by dual pins and the lenses are a mid-grey, glass
and offer good uv protection.
